The Kansas City Zoo’s annual fundraiser, Jazzoo, was June 2nd. More than 70 restaurants donated delicious bites to the event’s 5,000 attendees, and Ripple Glass helped the event’s 250 volunteers recycle glass.

As one of KC’s most popular benefit events, “Jazzoo” and its patrons help feed the 1,700 animals at the Zoo and support its operations and educational programs – while enjoying delicious food, drink and entertainment. In the last nine years, Jazzoo has raised more than $7 million to support special programs and underwrite operational costs at the Zoo.

Thanks to Jazzoo’s Beverage Coordinator, Mary Nestel, since 2010, we have been partnered with Jazzoo to help collect the glass used at the event. Last year alone, partnered with Jazzoo, we were able to collect over 3,000 pounds of glass and save it from landfills! Let’s hope for even more, this year!

We love hearing from our glass recyclers who attend these events on how glad they are to see us there! If you are an organizer of an event and would Ripple Glass to “join the party”, contact us at!, and we’ll see if we can help get your glass into the Ripple stream!
