On Thursday, October 19, 2017, Ripple Glass was recognized at the Nebraska Recycling Council Annual Awards Luncheon as the “2017 End was Market of the Year.”
About the Award
The End Market of the Year Award is presented to a local, regional or international member organization that utilizes recycled commodities from Nebraska recycling generators, processors, collectors and haulers for the manufacture of new goods. The organization is committed to the highest ethical standards that support the recovery of Nebraska’s resources.
Ripple Glass in Nebraska
This award was received specifically for Ripple Glass’ expanded partnership with the City of Omaha and Keep Omaha Beautiful (KOB). Over the past 5 years, Omaha has recycled over 6,500 tons of glass through their existing drop-off locations. In 2017, Ripple Glass, the City and KOB joined together to add an additional 3 drop-off locations for glass in under served areas. These containers were partially funded through grant money from the Nebraska State Recycling Association. These new drop-sites will add convenience for residents and divert even more glass from local landfills each year.
Ripple Glass also works with other communities in the South and West portions of Nebraska to recycle the glass from their community recycling programs.
This video was produced by the Nebraska Recycling Council and played when we received our "End Market of the Year" award earlier this month. It's a great look behind the scenes at Ripple Glass!
